Kingston's Peel To Host Final Event This Week
The Sir Robert Peel, Kingston's famous gig venue more commonly known as The Peel, have set a date for their final event and it's a lot closer than originally hoped.
'The Final Peel Twang Show' will be going ahead as planned this Friday April 26th, after which the doors will close on the venue for good.
The pub’s closure was announced earlier this year, and there was hope that a final gig would be held in May. These hopes have now been squashed and confirmation received that no more live music will come out of its doors.
London band Pig Iron, who played the venue many times and have shown their support since the closure was announced, posted on Facebook earlier today:
"OK, so fare thee well to The Peel. The gig has been officially cancelled.
RIP - we will dearly miss thee!"
As the pub is set for demolition, expect the send-off to be a raucous affair. More information is available on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/events/1480358982177970/1485946738285861/
